Geometry

We are about to launch into a series of chapter that relate to linear, 2-D, and 3-D geometry. We'll started by reminding the students how to use a protractor accurately. These 2 online activities are both fun and informative.

The Sixth Grade Take Charge!

As part of their studies in math, my sixth grade class have been involved in an interesting project. Not only did they have to re-write part of the textbook, but now each one of them has to deliver their lesson to the rest of the group. So far they have done a great job of preparing themselves for waht some see as quite an ordeal! You can judge for yourself in the attached video. Check back to see how well the others do.

5th Grade Math Project - Design a Decimal Board Game

Today saw the start of the 5th graders first math project of the year. Over the course of the next few weeks they will need to work to create a board game using their knowledge of decimals. The first deadline is the draft of their game board by November 7th. This PowerPoint outline the project.
